Raised on a ranch outside of Kadoka, SD, graduated from SDSU and Kennesaw State University, lived in Georgia for 12 years then moved to Sioux Falls in 2007. Married to Matt and have 3 boys, I love working with people, working out, reading mystery novels, spending time with my boys and get-togethers with friends.

Why do you love doing what you do?

All of us have our strengths and weaknesses, and not everyone understands or enjoys the financial side of their business. If we can work with them to help them understand what their financials are saying to them without them having to put in the extra work on this side of the business – so they can focus on the aspects of the business they love and know inside and out – it’s super exciting to visit with them about where we are, where they are going. What are their goals and how are we going to get there. To form a partnership with our clients makes it all worthwhile!

Running, working out, reading mystery novels, cross stitching and hanging with my boys (I’ll take any minute they give me!)

Fountain Coke, Herbalife Tea and Orange Push-up shake, my computer, my fam, a great book. Okay, this is more than 3 – I can’t count!

Why do you love doing what you do?

Accounting is like a big puzzle and its so satisfying when the pieces fall into place.

Favorite Sioux Falls restaurant:

Crawford’s, it doesn’t sound right but the strawberry pizza is to die for. My dad is also just as obsessed as I am.

Favorite vacation spot:

I haven’t gone on a vacation for a while, but I enjoyed the Black Hills. The views are beautiful, there are so many great places to hike, there’s caves, and cool nicknack spots.

What you like to do for fun:

I love to go thrifting! I’ve been an avid thrifter since early high school, I’d say 90% of my possessions are secondhand. I love being able to score a good deal on something on my Pinterest board! 

You’re stuck on a deserted island… what are 3 things you can’t live without?

I’m going to have to say my pets (Sunny and Evie), a computer that never runs out of power or Wi-Fi (I plan on playing Sims the entire time), and a good pot roast dinner.

I grew up in small town Larchwood, IA and am blessed to say I have settled there currently. I attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA to pursue Accounting and Business Administration while playing football for the Raiders. 

Why do you love doing what you do?

I love problem solving and digging into problems that other may call boring or tedious! Accounting is a fulfilling career because it is so important for the landscape of society. I love helping clients and understanding the different industries we are working with. 

Favorite Sioux Falls restaurant:

My fiancée and I love eating at Barrel House. There are many options available, and I have never been left unsatisfied!

Favorite vacation spot:

Anywhere that has vast nature and can be active!

What you like to do for fun:

I love spending time with my fiancée and being around family/friends. I also enjoy being involved in my community with FCA, ROY, coaching, and development committees.

Hi, I am Heather! I grew up on a farm just outside of Delmont, SD. I moved to Sioux Falls for college and have been here ever since. After graduating with my Bachelor’s in Accounting, I pursued my Master’s Degree and earned my CPA. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work for some great companies in Sioux Falls, met and married my husband, Steve, and volunteer with MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue. I’m also a dog mom to my two rescued Boston Terriers – Keywe and Ketchi.

Why do you love doing what you do?

I truly enjoy the day-to-day accounting of a business’ operations and seeing all of that flow through to financial statements. There is also something new to learn every day when working with different businesses. And it’s exciting to see the passion small business owners have! We also have an amazing team at Matinee that I’m very grateful for!

Favorite Sioux Falls restaurant:

Roam or Puerto Vallarta – And I love to try new places!

Favorite vacation spot:

Anywhere with sunshine and a beach! But Sanibel Island, FL does hold a special place in my heart.

What you like to do for fun:

Spending time with my dogs exploring new places, reading and cooking/baking.
